This kitchen renovation in Burnaby transformed a dark and dated space into a bright, modern, and more functional kitchen connected naturally with the surrounding living area.
Before the renovation, the space featured dark red accent walls, limited lighting, older flooring, worn cabinetry, and a traditional kitchen layout that made the interior feel heavier and more enclosed.
API Building & Renovation redesigned the space with a lighter colour palette, modern finishes, improved lighting, new flooring, and custom cabinetry to create a cleaner and more open atmosphere.
The original kitchen was replaced with custom white shaker cabinets featuring sleek black hardware for a clean, timeless look.
A navy-blue kitchen island creates contrast while adding valuable countertop space, storage, and functionality. Light countertops and coordinated finishes help brighten the kitchen and connect it visually with the adjacent living space.
The updated layout makes better use of the available space while creating a more comfortable environment for cooking, dining, and everyday living.
New light oak-tone flooring replaced the older flooring, helping the kitchen and surrounding living areas feel warmer and more spacious.
The lighting was also upgraded to improve visibility and create a brighter atmosphere throughout the space. Fresh paint and coordinated interior finishes complete the transformation.
The result is a modern interior that feels considerably more open without sacrificing warmth or character.
